How to Get an Oklahoma Real Estate License
Oklahoma real estate licenses are controlled through the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission (OREC). There are two tiers to sales associates: Provisional Sales Associate and Sales Associate. A Sales Associate license is valid for three years and only requires 21 hours of post-license education per licensing term. You must be a Provisional Sales Associate for one year before becoming a Sales Associate.

Application to Take the Oklahoma Real Estate Examination
Before taking the real estate examination you must be approved by the Commission. You must submit application forms A and form B and wait for your examination eligibility notification. Application form A is for the required background check. You will need to include your fingerprints and $41 (check or money order). The background check is only valid for six months, so you will need to acquire your license before it expires.

Registering for the Oklahoma Real Estate Examination
You will receive approval from the Commission to take the examination. PSI administers the tests at their various testing center locations around the state; you must register with PSI to schedule your exam. The two fastest ways to do this are online and over the phone (800-733-9267). You will need a VISA or MasterCard to complete the registration and pay the $60 testing fee. You can also register by faxing the registration form found at the end of the Application Information Bulletin. You will also need VISA or MasterCard to register this way. You will have to wait three business days before making your examination appointment. Mailing the registration form allows you to pay using money order or cashiers check. You will have to wait two weeks before scheduling your examination appointment.
Taking the Oklahoma Real Estate Examination
PSI asks that you arrive for your testing appointment 30 minutes early. This extra time allows for the check-in procedure and familiarizing you with the testing process. At the time of check-in PSI testing staff will verify your two forms of identification. One of your IDs must be government issued bearing your signature and photograph. The other ID must have your signature and preprinted name. Temporary identification cards, such as an employee ID, will not be accepted. The testing staff will also show you to your testing computer. You will have the opportunity to go through a tutorial and practice using the computer before you begin your test. You should feel comfortable using the computer before you consent to begin taking the exam.
Once you begin taking the exam you will have three hours to complete all of the questions. The test questions are divided into two portions, State and National. The first time you take the exam you will be taking both portions together with the first 60 items being State questions and the remaining 70 National questions.
Your pass or fail status will appear on the computer screen once you submit your answers. A full unofficial score report will be given to you before you leave the testing center. You must answer at least 75% of the questions correctly to pass the examination. If you fail one or both portions of the exam, you will be notified on the computer screen and given the one-time opportunity to review the questions you answered incorrectly. If you fail the State portion of the exam, you may retake it alone at a later date.
Obtaining Your Oklahoma Real Estate License
PSI will report your examination score to the Commission once you pass both sections of the licensing examination. Your license will then be issued to your sponsoring broker if you applied for an active license. If you applied for an inactive license, a pocket card of your license will be issued to you.
